The Commemorative Air Force Museum in Midland is operated by the High Sky Wing volunteers. The High Sky Wing volunteers oversee its authentic World War II antique aircraft. Midland Army Airfield

The Midland Army Airfield in Texas is truly one of the prides of the city. The tradition of respect for the United States Army and United States Air Force is still honored by Midlanders to this day since the famed bombardier training school operated at the Midland Army Airfield in Texas from 1942 until 1945 and showed strong support during World War II. The Army Air Forces Bombardier School was one of the four “West Texas Bombardier Quadrangle” schools.  The school’s purpose was to train young men how to use Carl Norden’s bombsight.

The Midland Army Airfield is located 8.4 miles west-southwest of Midland, Texas. It’s between Odessa and Midland in the Permian Basin. It features a Wall of Honor to recognize veterans from multiple wars.

Veteran’s Wall of Honor at the Midland Army Air Field Museum

The Veteran’s Wall of Honor allows us to permanently recognize a US Military Veteran. Veterans from the eras of World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, the Persian Gulf, Afghanistan, and Iraq are recognized by plaques on the Veteran’s Wall of Honor at the Midland Army Air Field Museum.
