Midland Army Airfield Museum Hangar

The Midland Army Airfield Museum Hangar has plenty of aircraft on display, ranging from an Aero L-39 Albatross to a Stinson L-5 Sentinel. You’ll be able to explore all kinds of craft, learn more about aircraft restoration or even take a ride in a plane.

Blakemore Planetarium

Located at the Museum of the Southwest in Midland, the Blakemore Planetarium holds star talks and dome shows on a 360-degree Digistar 5 system – and some are even in 3-D. The dome shows change frequently, so you can check what’s up-and-coming on the planetarium’s website here.

Midland County History Museum

The Midland County History Museum on Main Street is committed to preserving and sharing Midland County’s story – and you can visit the museum and conduct local research through the Midland County Historical Society. You can explore permanent exhibits and join some of the museum’s frequent events, too, such as “Winter Animal Tracking,” “Snakes Alive!” and “Spring Nature Walks.”

Midland Downtown Lions Club Fire Museum

The Midland Downtown’s Lions Club Fire Museum features two old fire engines you can explore and learn about the history of firefighting in Midland. You can also tour any fire station in the city, for the record (though if you want to tour with a large group, you should call 432-685-7332 to schedule a time).
