Good news for kids in Ector County: Big Brothers Big Sisters Midland Executive Director Kay Crites announced that funds are headed to Ector to open a Big Brother Big Sisters office there. The organization’s new location? The Connection Christian Church in Odessa. Construction is expected to finish on the location in the middle of August.

The organization started working with residents in Odessa a year ago to raise money to expand into Ector. Now, the program is recruiting volunteers. When school starts for Ector County kids this fall, the program will launch! They have a school-based program planned for Ector County ISD. They’ll match volunteers with children at one selected elementary school to start. For now, interested “big sisters” or “big brothers” can call the Midland office at 432-687-0195 for information.
