Hello Midland!  The Holiday season is nipping at our toes and seeing as though the weather has definitely taken the winter turn, the first of December might as well be tomorrow.  Are you excited?  So am I.  The weather, the lights, the holiday spirit are all coming together just nicely and in time for Midland’s festivities.  Although we can’t help the holiday shoppers, we surely can increase our children’s activity level by participating in some of the fun things Midland has to offer; most of them free of charge!

Saturday the 4th of December:

  • 12:30 – 2 p.m.  –  Pops II: “Kid’s Holiday Matinee” (at the Commemorative Air Force Hanger, 9600 Wright Drive @ Midland International Airport, Midland, TX.  Free Admission.  Bring your family and enjoy a holiday concert performed by the MOSC.  Activities and a visit from Santa & Mrs. Claus follow the performance.
  • 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.  –  The Midland Christmas Parade (Downtown Midland, start at Baird and Illinois) 2010 It’s a Rockin’ Christmas!  Lighted floats and the lighting of the Christmas tree downtown centennial plaza.
  • 7 – 10 p.m.  –  Pops II: “Sounds of the Season – Holiday Pops” (Commemorative Air Force Hangar, 9600 Wright Drive at Midland International Airport)  Admission Charged.  Rudolf says, “Don’t Buck Tradition!”  Bring your friends and family to the Permian Basin’s Annual kick-off to the Holiday Season

December 13:

  • 2:30 – 4 p.m.  The Nutcracker – (Lee High School Auditorium, Neely Street) The Midland Festival Ballet Company members will perform “The Nutcracker” by Peter Tchaikovsky under the direction of Midland Festival Ballet’s Susan Clark.
