The Nativity Exhibit

The Midland Nativity Festival was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on 4805 Gateway Midland, TX 79707. This Festival was an amazing sight to see since we had been hearing about it around town  and seeing advertising for it for the past few months! It featured over 200 sets that have been loaned by members of the Permian Basin community to share in the festivity’s of the birth of Christ. The wide verity of sets were a sight to see. Pictured just dont seem to do it justice when you are staning in a giant room surounded replacas of the most importiant envent know to man.

The Bible Room

Organizers of this Midland  Festival were also able to set up a Bible room that allowed viewing of a  private Bible collection of seven centuries of Bibles that included:

  • The oldest of which was published in Venice in 1492 and includes gold leafing
  • A 20” Royal Bible, published for King George II and also owned by a famous Egyptologist
  • A Geneva Bible from the 1600’s, which version the pilgrims would have used
  • First addition King James Bible,
  • The Book of Romans from the Tyndale Bible
  • Napoleon Bonaparte’s personal prayer book

Christ Vore, a local Odessa resident allowed to have his Bible collection to be a part o the exhibits as well and was able to come out to do a lecture on them.

The Life Of Christ Room

Finally, the last exhibit that was extremely impressive was The Life of Christ Room. A room that was filled with paintings and art work that walk you through the Life Of Christ. Seeing these works of art and how they are displayed in the time line of Christ’s life is really a breath taking experience.

These exhibits are a great place to reinforce the TRUE meaning of Christmas and get you in the Christmas spirit! Lets never forget the reason we are celebrating the season.

Happy Birthday Jesus!
